1. What types of ceramics do you offer?
We specialize in both functional and sculptural ceramic pieces, including handmade pottery such as mugs, plates, bowls, vases, planters, and decorative sculptures. Each piece is crafted by hand using the pottery wheel or hand building techniques from a lump of earth and high-quality glazes, blending both functional and artistic designs suitable for everyday use or gifting.
2. Are all your ceramics identical?
Because every item is hand-made, no two pieces are exactly the same. Variations in shape, size, glaze color, texture, and finish are part of the charm and uniqueness of handmade ceramics. These natural differences should be appreciated as a testament to the craftsmanship involved and not considered imperfections.
3. Can I take a pottery class or workshop?
Definitely! We offer pottery classes mainly for beginners and announced special advanced classes. Classes cover wheel throwing, hand-building techniques, glazing, and firing processes. Workshops are held monthly, and we recommend booking your spot at least two weeks in advance due to limited availability. You can check links under MARI POTTERI CLAY HOUSE.
4. Are your ceramics food-safe?
All our ceramics intended for food use are glazed with non-toxic, food-safe glazes and fired at high temperatures to ensure durability and safety. However, we advise avoiding microwave use unless specifically labeled as microwave-safe.
5. How should I care for my ceramic pieces?
To keep your ceramics in excellent condition:
-
Hand-wash with mild detergent and avoid abrasive scrubbers.
-
Although many pieces are dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended to extend their life.
-
Avoid exposing your ceramics to sudden temperature changes (e.g., moving from the fridge directly to a hot oven) to prevent cracking.
-
Do not use in microwave unless labeled microwave-safe.
6. Do you ship your products?
Yes, we offer shipping both locally and internationally. Shipping fees depend on the size and weight of your order and your location. All ceramics are carefully packaged with protective materials to minimize the risk of damage during transit.
- For domestic: shipping timelines vary but usually take between 5-10 business days domestically.
- For international: we are still working on our website access for international shipping. You may email us at orders@marimanalo.com to inquire and process order manually. We ship only via DHL.
7. Can I return or exchange a ceramic item?
Due to the nature of ceramics, slowly made and in small batches, all orders especially those pre-order ones are considered final and no exchanges will be entertained. Each piece is handmade and unique, returns are not accepted for change of mind or buyer’s remorse.
And due to the delicate nature of ceramics, in the event of breakage, we accept returns or exchanges only if the item arrives damaged. Please inspect your package immediately upon delivery and notify us within 24 hours with photos and videos of the damage item from unboxing.
8. How long does it take to get a replacement?
Once we receive your damaged item and verify the issue, replacements are typically shipped within 1-2 weeks if an identical piece is available. However, custom or pre-ordered pieces may require up to 8 weeks for production and delivery.
9. How can I place an order? Is there a pre-order option?
You can place orders through our website - marimanalo.com , by phone, email, or in-person at our shop MARI POTTERI CLAY HOUSE. Pre-order timeline runs at 8 to 10 weeks depending on posted item description. This ensures we maintain the highest quality standards for handmade pieces.
